Linux

Linux is a freely-available UNIX-like operating system. It was originally developed on the Intel x86 architecture, but ports have also been made to the SPARC, Alpha, and PowerPC architectures (among others). In fact, this web site is hosted on a $200 Walmart computer running Fedora Core 4 Linux. Here are some places you might want to start for more information about Linux:
